Story

Diego Benavente arrived at Getafe International Madrid Football Academy as a talented midfielder with strong technical ability and tactical intelligence. During his two seasons at GIMFA between 2021 and 2023, Diego developed into a complete central midfielder capable of competing at a high level in Spanish football.

After graduating from the academy, Diego signed for the U19 National Team of URJC Móstoles, where he quickly made an impact during the 2023–24 season. He played a key role in the team’s promotion to División de Honor Juvenil, Spain’s highest youth category, while also scoring important goals against top academies such as Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.

His performances earned him the opportunity to compete in senior football the following season with Aravaca CF in Tercera RFEF. Midway through the campaign, Diego took another major step forward in his career by signing for UP Langreo in Segunda RFEF, one of the most competitive semi-professional divisions in Spain.

Now established at Langreo, Diego continues to progress as a midfielder known for his work rate, composure on the ball, and tactical awareness. His journey reflects the pathway GIMFA offers players who aspire to transition from youth football into the Spanish senior system.
